About OIC

The Orthopaedic Injection Clinic is a leading Medical Clinic in Dublin, specializing in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal disorder. With a team of highly skilled medical professionals lead by Mr Paul Nicholson, we are dedicated to exceeding our patients' expectations and improving their quality of life.

Shoulder PRP injections target the glenohumeral joint, the ball-and-socket joint where the humerus meets the scapula. This joint is protected by a flexible capsule, reinforced by ligaments, and cushioned by cartilage, synovial fluid, and bursae. PRP therapy helps reduce inflammation and promote healing in conditions such as bursitis and dislocation.

PRP Knee Injections

Knee PRP injections target the knee joint, which consists of the femur, tibia, and patella, forming three compartments. The joint is stabilized by collateral ligaments on the sides and cruciate ligaments within, including the ACL and PCL, which control movement and rotation. PRP therapy helps reduce inflammation, promote healing, and support joint stability.

Ankle PRP injections target the complex ankle joint, which includes the true ankle joint for up-and-down movement and the subtalar joint for side-to-side motion. These joints involve the tibia, fibula, talus, and calcaneus, stabilized by major ligaments such as the anterior tibiofibular, lateral collateral, and deltoid ligaments. PRP therapy helps reduce inflammation, promote healing, and support joint stability.

PRP Ankle Injections
PRP Hip Injections

The most common reason for injections around the hip joint are hip osteoarthritis, hip impingement (also known as femoral acetabular impingement or FAI) and trochanteric bursitis). An injection can provide rapid pain relief for all of these conditions.

Plantar fascia PRP injections target the strong fibrous band running from the heel to the big toe, which helps with movement during walking and running. Plantar fasciitis is a common foot injury, often causing dull, throbbing, or burning pain, especially after rest. Symptoms include heel pain when stepping out of bed, walking, wearing flat shoes, or exercising. PRP therapy helps reduce inflammation and promote healing for long-term relief.

PRP wrist Injections

Hand and wrist PRP injections can help manage persistent pain that does not respond to physiotherapy and rehabilitation. They are beneficial for pain lasting over six weeks, worsening discomfort, sleep disturbances, or difficulty performing daily activities, work, sports, or hobbies. PRP therapy aids in reducing inflammation and promoting healing.

What Our Clients Say

I felt very relaxed as soon as I met Mr Nicholson.

He explained the process of PRP injections to me and I must say the injection into my knee was quick and easy.

Very happy with the results.

Very happy, PRP is definitely the way to go. Mr Nicholson is a very nice man and explained everything to me. Nurse that assisted him was also lovely. Overall very good experience.

A quick note of thanks to Mr Nicholson and his team. Having suffered for a long time with a lot of pain in my hip I am finally starting to feel a lot better.

Have recommended The Orthopaedic Injection Clinic to all of my friends in our running group. Thank you!
